The author, Omer W Blodgett, ScD., P.E., shares his extensive knowledge of the welding field. He does a good job of describing the fundamentals of welding.

Blodgett not only concerns himself with the essential engineering basics of welding, but also takes a practical, cost effective view of the art.

His October article continues a theme that was in the November issue. Blodgett outlines the pros and cons between using an intermittent fillet weld or a continuous fillet weld. In addition, he shows the math behind his thoughts.

The remainder of the publication is no disappointment. Welding Magazine is chock full of informative articles and welding product highlights. Even the advertisements are clean and colorful.
