I need a bender for our new business,”Designs in Lights”. Wemake lighted frames for all occasions. We need to bend 1/4″ to 1/2″ rolled steel. Let me now if you have something that will work. Thanks

James,
Thanks for your question. The 20/20 Compact Bender is capable of bending up to 1/2″ hot rolled round steel. You can also bend anything smaller than 1/2″. Different radius bends can be achieved using dies that are included with the 20/20 Compact Bender. You can also bend up to 5/16th by 2″ hot rolled strap. Contact Shop Outfitters for more information.
Your new business venture sounds great. Send us a few photo’s and we’ll post them on our site!
Thanks again, Tom

Have been very much delighted by your works. I would personallyu want to establish such a venture in kenya, and am fully determined to go an extra mile to learn about metal design and fabrication. So may be you can advise me on a way forward.
Thanks

estimado Tom Gabriel: existe algún manual o algún video para aprender a utilizar la curvadora de hierro compacto 2020 Bender? Le agradecería si me indicase donde lo podría encontrar en español. Muchas gracias

Tom,
What is a resonable price to pay for a used 20/20 compact bender. I know it has the optional extended lever assembly. What is the cost of a new 20/20 compact bender.
Thanks,
ray

Ray,
Not sure I can answer what a “reasonable price” might be. That is really negotiated between the buyer and seller. The leverage multiplier kit is required for many of the tubing dies made for the 20/20 compact bender. The 20/20 compact bender has been discontinued by Shop Outfitters. If the bender comes with tubing dies, then the leverage multiplier kit will increase the value. Give Tracy a call at Shop Outfitters for more information, I believe they are working on an upgrade to the 20/20 compact bender. Their number is 1-719-251-5555.
Thanks for the question. Let me know what works out for you.
Tom

Hi Joe,
Give Tracey, 719-676-5555, a call at Shop Outfitters. We don’t actually sell the tools, but we do use several from Shop Outfitters. We would recommend them anytime!

Hi Tom,

What would be the best way to bend 6″ or 8″ strap (1/8th thickness)? Is this bender limited to 2″ widths?

Thanks a Bunch,
Jack

Hi Jack,
Thanks for the question. You are correct in noting that the 2020 Metal Bender bends up to 2″ width. Shop Outfitters has the 2011 Handy Bend attachment that fits on their Universal Fabricator. The Handy Bend will bend larger size strap. If you are bending hot rolled mild steel you can bend a 1/4″ up to 6″ strap and 3/16″ up to 10″ strap.
